    From jQuery you can only call php script with this function. Like that:

    $.ajax({
       url: 'hello.php',
       success: function (response) {//response is value returned from php (for your example it's "bye bye"
         alert(response);
       }
    });
    

    hello.php

        echo "bye bye"
    ?>
