Question

Hasn't the <embed> tag been around for a while?

The w3c page says is new in html5.

However i have been seeing embed tag from long time..

I am a bit confused now .please help.

still widely supported by modern
browsers. Unlike other tags, the
attributes used by depend
on the type of plugin being used (this
odd free-attribute concept is why
<EMBED ...> has been rejected by the
