what is wrong with the xml, I can not see my text on the button

you can’t use android:textfor the ImageButton. so just use a button and set background for it.

For example:

<Button 
   android1:id="@+id/btnShowLocation"
   android:layout_height="wrap_content"
   android:layout_width="wrap_content"
   android:layout_gravity="center"
   android:padding="10dp"
   android1:text = "@string/here_and_now"
   android:background="@drawable/blue_button"/>
