Is there any function like getElementByAttribute in PHP? If no, how do I create a workaround?

E.g.

<div class="foo">FOO!</div>

How do I match that element?

You can use XPath:

$xpath = new DOMXPath($document);
$results = $xpath->query("//*[@class='foo']");
