    If you have an NSString, you can do

    NSString *myString; //Assuume the string you want to write is this
    NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES);
    NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0];
    NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"myfile.txt"];
    [myString writeToFile:path atomically:YES];
