    You can use regular expressions and the Matcher class:

    String s = "Smith-Crane John-Henry";
    Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("\\s([A-Za-z]+)");
    Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(s);
    if (matcher.find()) {
        System.out.println(matcher.group(1));
    }
    

    Result:
