When I try to run ‘bundle install’, I get a weird error: “invalid byte sequence in US-ASCII (ArgumentError)”

  $ bundle install

    Unfortunately, a fatal error has occurred. Please see the Bundler

I did find this workaround (which works for me):

if RUBY_VERSION =~ /1.9/
  Encoding.default_external = Encoding::UTF_8
  Encoding.default_internal = Encoding::UTF_8
end

But I think that later it causes a different error so I’d rather not use it and just try to understand what’s really wrong here.
I know for sure this same code works on a different system…

    As a workaround you can set utf8 locale in your system:

    export LANG="C.UTF-8"
    export LC_ALL="C.UTF-8"

    More info about this is here
