    The former can be bound, whilst the latter is particularly useful when combining Runs:

    <TextBlock Text="{Binding SomeProperty}"/>
<TextBlock>
    <Run>You have </Run>
    <Run Text="{Binding Count}"/>
    <Run>items.</Run>
</TextBlock>
