I have many different things to try to solve this, but I have not succeeded yet.

    When you have the line

    for b in level1blocks[:]:
    

    you are going through each of the items in level1blocks rather than going through all the possible indices. Replace this line with

    for b in range(len(level1blocks)):
    

    This should fix your problem.
