I find the following rather handy.
1) ASSERTs.
2) A debug logger that can output to the debug spew, console or file.
3) Memory tracking tools.
4) Unit testing.
5) Smart pointers.
Im sure there are tonnes of others but I can’t think of them off the top of my head 🙂
