    Consider using scale for ImageView, and don’t bother about resizing. You can scale an image like this, for example:

    image.setAdjustViewBounds(true);
    image.setMaxHeight(50);
    image.setMaxWidth(50);
    image.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER_INSIDE);
