Is there any good way of keeping the current view in the ViewFlipper while

Is there any good way of keeping the current view in the ViewFlipper while sill being able to load the layout-port folder? Maybe with onRetainNonConfigurationInstance()? If so, how would I go about implementing it? I tried someones solution of putting:

android:configChanges="orientation|keyboardHidden"

in the Manifest.

The problem with that is that Android then ignores my layout-port folder which rearranges the input field and buttons.

Try saving which tab you’re on in the ViewFlipper when your screen orientation changes by overriding onSaveInstanceState

@Override
public void onSaveInstanceState(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    int position = flipper.getDisplayedChild();
    savedInstanceState.putInt("TAB_NUMBER", position);
}

Then in your onCreate, try the following

@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    if (savedInstanceState != null) {
        int flipperPosition = savedInstanceState.getInt("TAB_NUMBER");
        flipper.setDisplayedChild(flipperPosition);
    }
}

Make sure that you call the setDisplayedChild() method on flipper only after you have initialized flipper, by doing something like, for example,

flipper = (ViewFlipper) findViewById(R.id.flipper);

in your onCreate() method. Not doing so might result in a crash.
