This is my simple function and I have

<p>This is paragraph 1.</p>

like this but this function is not working? What is wrong here?

function select(){
    $('p')[0].innerHTML="Helooo!!";
}

<p>This is paragraph 1.</p>
<p>This is paragraph 2.</p>
<p>This is paragraph 3.</p>
<p>This is paragraph 4.</p>
<p>This is paragraph 5.</p>
<p>This is paragraph 6.</p>

jQuery:

$('p:eq(0)').html("Helooo!!");

I suggest this, because it is easy to change it to apply for more elements, if necessary later.
